Reports: Rams OG Jonah Jackson (shoulder) out about 6 weeks
Detroit Lions guard Jonah Jackson (73) warms up during minicamp at Detroit Lions Headquarters and Training Facility in Allen Park on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Los Angeles Rams starting left guard Jonah Jackson bruised his shoulder in practice and is expected to miss about six weeks, according to multiple media reports Wednesday.
Jackson, 27, injured his scapula on Tuesday and was seen Wednesday wearing a sling on his left arm during practice. The team said he is day-to-day with a shoulder injury.
The Rams signed Jackson to a three-year, $51 million contract -- including a reported $34 million guaranteed -- in March after the free agent played out his rookie deal with Detroit.
The Lions selected Jackson in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. He started all 57 games he played in from 2020-23, including 100 percent of the offensive snaps from 2021-23 after 96 percent as a rookie.
The 2021 Pro Bowl selection was replaced for first-team reps in practice by Joe Noteboom and Zachary Thomas.
The Rams open their season at Detroit on Sept. 8.
